A Healing Heart by Melissa A. Hanson Review

A Healing Heart by Melissa A. Hanson is the story of Bailey, a young woman who has lost so much over the past two years.  Her parents and both siblings were killed in a car accident, while she was the only one to survive the accident.  Everyday Bailey asks herself, "Why was I the only one to survive?"

One day as Bailey is babysitting, and sitting in the park on a bench, she meets Collin.  Collin turns her world upside down and makes her feel like there truly is a reason why she was the only to survive the accident.  Like she has a purpose in life.  However, as Collin and her get closer and closer, and get to know each other, she still can't help feel, Is it to good to be true?  Will it last?

Overall I enjoyed this story.  I thought it was one of those love stories, that every girl needs once in a while to get her "Chocolate" fix.  But at the same time, like with most novels, there were a couple of things that got to me.  There were quite a few times where the dialogue from Collin and Bailey got to me.  It got very over dramatic and cheesy at points, to the point where I just laughed out loud, even though it was supposed to be a very heart-felt moment.  Normally, I like cheesy...to a point...but A Healing Heart was a bit much sometimes.  And then secondly, their is some drama (of course! Drama is something every story needs, other wise what is the point??), that by the end I felt was left unanswered.  The important questions were answered, but some of the smaller ones that were going through my head, I felt more could have been added to.

However, I did like the emotion Bailey felt and showed through the novel.  Some of the love story reminded me a LITTLE bit of Bella and Edward's relationship in New Moon, minus the vampire thing and Jacob.  And then COLLIN (!!!!) he sounded dreamy!! Too good to be true...almost.  But none the less, totally HOT, and sensitive, and just an overall great guy.  And then I liked some of the twist and turns the story took.  A few things I figured out before they happened, but some did surprise me.

It was definitely a cute story.  One that I enjoyed reading, and I think a lot of women, and teenagers will enjoy, just because of Bailey and Collin's relationship.  It didn't blow me out of my seat, but I did read it very fast (in about a day), and thought it kept me going, and wanting more, and find out what happens.

I recommend it to women (or men), who just need a cute Romantic pick-me-up.  A cute love story, with some cheesiness, with a box of chocolates on the side. :)

Happy Friday!! I am so sad...my Spring Break is already practically over ;(.  But ONLY a little over a month more and then SUMMER!!!! :)
