Meg-A Readers Week! Day 4: The Princess Present (#6.5 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot (Novella Review) (Giveaway!)

Hey Everyone! :) Happy Meg-A Readers Day!!

From Goodreads:

Mia would give all the jewels in Genovia for the perfect present
Every year, Princess Mia spends the holidays in Genovia with Grandmère. This year, she's looking forward to the most perfect Christmas ever: her boyfriend, Michael, and her best friend, Lilly, are coming to Genovia, too.
But even a princess's plans can go awry. Lilly has a lot to learn about palace protocol, and with all the state holiday functions Mia must attend, there's no time to linger under the mistletoe with Michael. Worst of all, Mia hasn't been able to find him the perfect gift.
Can Mia stop her (bah-hum)bugging long enough to see that the perfect present has nothing to do with international express courier -- and everything to do with real love? (Though some shiny silver ribbon never hurts ...)

My Thoughts:

I love that Meg made these little novella's inbetween!  They are so adorable, and fun to read, especially because you can read them in like an hour or even less!

The ending of the story is based off of a rather famous Christmas story called "The Gift of the Magi".  When you read The Princess Present, you may recognize it, especially if you have watched the Christmas movie Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas.

Mia and Michael are seriously so adorable together!!!!!!! I love it when they get alone time!  Michael says the sweetest things to her, that just puts a big smile on my face!

What was great about this one, is the setting of Genovia.  You get to hear Mia talk about the country that she will one day rule, but you rarely get to have her actually be in the country.  So it was nice getting a better feel on where Mia lives during the Holidays each year.

My overall rating:
Great short story! Of course, a great part of The Princess Diaries Series by Meg Cabot! Definitely check it out!
