Meg-A Readers Week! Day 6: Princess on the Brink (#8 in The Princess Diaries Series) by Meg Cabot (PLUS GIVEAWAY!)

Today I've got my review for Meg Cabot's 8th book in The Princess Diaries series, Princess on the Brink.

My Thoughts:

This is the first book in the series that didn't end on a happy note.  In fact, it ended on one of the devastating notes of my book world life!!  I can't believe Mia did that!!! I mean, yes I get it...Michael lied.  And no I don't think he didn't technically lie, because being open about past relationships is an important part of a loving relationship! I don't care if Mia never asked, it should have come up sooner.

I'm just so sad every time I finish this book!!  It bums me out! Plus we've got stupid a-hole, who I'm not going to name, swoop in as soon as he sees Mia isn't possibly together with Michael anymore...UGH!!!!!!

I'm sorry, if I'm spoiling this one for those of you who haven't read it.  I did warn you up top!!

Anyway, I'm just so bummed right now, even though I know how this series will end, this one is just so sad!!!

Alright I'm going back to reading, I've still got to finish the last two in the series, to make it in time for the reviews to be up for Meg-A Readers 2014!!

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

I saw the movie Hugo (directed by Martin Scorsese) right before the New Year.  Let me back track, and let you know that usually I am NOT a fan of Oscar movies.  If I'm being honest, I find them to be boring.  However, this year has seemed to bring quite a few more exceptions than normal.  Among those are: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 , The Help , and Hugo.   I fell in love with Hugo .  I thought it so beautifully done.  The music, the characters, the story.  I found myself crying even at points that wouldn't necessarily make you cry.  I honestly, didn't know the movie was based on a book; but when I found out at the end, I knew I had to read it. The winner of the Children's Caldecott Award, The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick is nothing like anything I've ever read.  Normally, when I read I imagine the story that I am reading  unfolding in my head like a movie; but with The Invention of Hugo Cabret I didn't have to imagine.  T
